2020 China-Central and Eastern European Countries International Agricultural Cooperation Forum, a three-day event, was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on November 25, 2020. Under the theme “Seek Development, Talent First”, the forum aimed to deepen the cooperation between China and Central & Eastern European countries in agricultural industries, agricultural technological talents, economy, trade and services, further advancing rapid development of agricultural production, fine and deep processing industry of agricultural products. The forum was hosted by China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as “CAPIAC”), directed by Department of International Cooperation of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, International Cooperation Center of National Development and Reform Commission, China International Electronic Commerce Center, supported by Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and undertaken by Chengdu Agricultural and Rural Bureau, People’s Government of Qingbaijiang District of Chengdu, Baichengyuan Science & Technology Co., Ltd.
Over 100 guests from Embassy of Bulgaria in China, Embassy of Hungary in China, Food and Agriculture Organization Representative in China, Department of International Cooperation of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Department of Central and Eastern Europe of Institute of European Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, CAPIAC, Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, Cathay Group, CP Group, China Rongtong Agricultural Development Group Co., Ltd, Tianjin Food Group, BBCA Szolnok Biochemical Co., Ltd, and New Hope Group attended the conference and carried out exchanges in cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries in talent exchanges, open agriculture and economic and trade and services.
More than 4,000 representatives participated in the forum online or offline with the livestream broadcast. For foreign guests who cannot visit China due to epidemic prevention and control, their speech and signing ceremony were conducted by real-time connection.
During the forum, many cooperation agreements were signed, including Strategic Cooperation Agreement between CAPIAC and People’s Government of Qingbaijiang District of Chengdu, Cooperation Agreement between CAPIAC, Sichuan Agricultural Product Export Alliance and Hungarian Business Council, Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement between People’s Government of Qingbaijiang District of Chengdu and Beijing Capital Agribusiness Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd, etc.
In accordance with the agreement signed between People’s Government of Qingbaijiang District of Chengdu and CAPIAC, the two sides will carry out comprehensive strategic cooperation in international agricultural cooperation and agricultural product supply chain platform to promote the coordinated development of local economy and enterprises.
