At present, global consumers are increasingly concerned about the way food is produced and its environmental impact. Issues such as animal welfare, food safety, climate change and food system transformation are becoming hot topics which attract world attention. Companies are required to optimize their supply chain management to ensure that standards are met at each session, ranging from farm to consumer end. This presents unprecedented challenges and opportunities for companies in farming, slaughtering, processing and purchasing. It is expected more than half of the global economy will be affected by the ESG evaluation System and traceability requirements of the Supply Chain Act.
In this context, China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation (CAPIAC), The Food
and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will co-host
the World Conference on Animal Welfare in the Sustainable Agri-food
Systems in Beijing from October 29 to 30, 2024. The conference consists of one plenary session and three breakout sessions. The three breakout sessions will focus on supply chain and food retailers, financing for sustainable production, and sustainability in aquaculture and fisheries. The conference aims to build a platform for international communication and cooperation, bring together global wisdom. Participants range from senior officials of the United Nations, leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Beijing Municipal Government, diplomatic envoys to China,
